Numeracy Success
I’m Alex Fordyce — a qualified teacher and experienced tutor in Orpington, committed to helping both children and adults build confidence and competence in maths and literacy across Bromley. My main focus is giving children, especially neurodiverse children the tools to succeed in primary school.
What is numeracy? The knowledge of basic maths like place value, fractions, percentages and decimals and the ability and confidence to use it at school, work and in everyday life.
I’ve taught numeracy in a variety of settings over the years, including at an FE College, through two community-focused charities, and as a private tutor working directly in students’ homes. My approach is flexible and supportive, always tailored to suit the unique needs of each learner. Whether I’m helping a child master Key Stage 2 maths or guiding an adult through their Functional Skills qualification, I work hard to make the learning process clear, practical, and encouraging. I am especially experienced in helping children with diagnosed neurodiversity like ADHD.
